The Project

To build a proof of concept and understand the need for an app to connect businesses and those interested in attending or taking part in activities and events in the local community both prior and at the last minute.

The Problem

Local businesses want to fill their venue both prior and at the last minute as capacity becomes available. They want an effortless way to connect to individuals who are looking for things to do and fill their venue.

For many people looking to attend or take part in an event or activity in their free time, it can difficult finding out what’s going on. In addition, individuals, often do not want to attend events and activities on their own and can find it difficult connecting with others to go with.

The Opportunity

To build an app to connect businesses and customers with events and activities as they become available.

Assist businesses a method to easily and quickly market their event or activity, offering promotions and other enticements for those to attend.

My business partner an I, ran a customer discovery, focus group, session with 10, 20-35 year old potential users, to understand their motivations and desires around spending their free time.

Everyone was asked a series of questions which they responded to on post it notes. These were collated both during the session and after.
